DEVON REX AND SPHYNX

Ruadh continues to follow in her mother and grandmothers footsteps by getting her 2nd Challenge Certificate at this show coming first out of 3 very nice girls.

Open Class Judge - Mrs. P. Wilding

Hobson-Kelly's Nobilero Ruadh Caoilfhionn.  Dainty, type and with lots of style.  Good short head and good whisker break.  Perhoaps a fraction more stop for absolute perfection, but perhaps I'm too fussy.  Lovely neck, firm body, long legs and oval paws.  Tail tapered and good length.  Good coat texture and wavy.

Different to every other GCCF show, the cats in competition here all have qualified by winning their class at other GCCF shows.  It is the feline equivalent to Crufts and only the best cats are shown here.  Ruadh was the youngest girl in the adult class of 5 and did us proud by winning the Challenge Certificate.

1st Ch. Hobson-Kelly’s NOBILERO RUADH CAOILFHIONN. 33a 30ds. A welldeveloped girl for her young age. A cheeky look. Enormous ears wide at base but needs a little more width between them. A little bold in the eyes. Shows slight nose stop. Strong chin. Well muscled strong body with slender neck. Busy legs. Good length tapered tail. Very good texture coat, well covered soft and showing rippling a fidgety girl, very inquisitive.

1st IC and BoB Hobson-Kelly's Chichi Caoimhe Nanobilero 84 20e Well grown excellent young female.  Nice type, lovely expression, good profile.  Muscular body, long legs and well formed paws.  Long slim tapered tail.  Lovely character.

BOB. HOBSON-KELLY’S CH LEYLA SKYWALKER DEGLI ELFI. 33a27etsx. 150505.  A mature girl looking great today.  Very nicely balanced head, short broad wedge with high cheek bones, strong muzzle and firm chin, well defined whisker break, short nose with definite stop, good bite, and brow curving back to flat scull.  Ears good shape and set wide apart, tapering to rounded tips, large expressive eyes, this girl has a lovely “Pixie” look.  Very good conformation and condition, body hard and muscular, carried high on legs and balanced tail.  Good coat texture and presentation, waving throughout.

1st IC BOB. Hobson-Kelly’s CHICHI CAOIMHE NANOBILERO. 84 20e. Quite nice mature girl. Medium length body, hard and muscular. Rounded chest. Slender neck. Long slender tail, slightly thick at the base. Oval dainty paws. Modified wedge with prominent cheek bones, good whisker break. Slight stop at bridge of nose. Large wide open ears. Quite large lemon shaped eyes. Covered with fine down showing tortie markings. Slightly more fur on ears.

HOBSON-KELLY’S CHICHI CAOIMHE NANOBILERO (84 20e) Female  1 year 9 months.  Rounded wedge shape to the head with prominent cheek bones and definite whisker break defining the prominent whisker pads.  Strong muzzle, gently rounded, flat skull and brow.  Nose is straight with a slight stop.  Large ears, wide at the base, rounded tips, set on a slight slant at the base.  Large, oval eyes set on a slant.  Moderate size to the firmly muscled body, rounded chest.  Slender legs with deep, oval paws.  A superbly affectionate character, extrovert and enjoying the attention today. Open Class Sphynx Kitten Male - Judge Mrs. H. HOBSON-KELLY’S NOBILERO ARCHIE BUCHAILMAH  84 20  M  9.3.09
Baby of the class but of good size and weight for his three months of age. Head has rounded contours to a modified wedge with good prominent cheek bones and fairly good whisker break with prominent whisker pads. Good rounded muzzle, level bite but slightly shallow chin. In profile rounded top of head but continuing the rounding to brow rather than flat plane in front of the ears then line straight to tip without a hint of a stop. He was noticeably teething and this may well have been distorting his face shape. Although large ears are required these were slightly over sized for his face at present but no doubt he will grow into them but they are wide at base, set well apart and at slight angle to head and rounded at tips. Lemon shape to large, yellow eyes wide set and correctly slanted towards outer edges of ears. Lovely body medium in length with good muscle tone, rounded chest and medium length, proportionate legs with thick, oval paws. Tail slightly fine at present but tapers to tip and is of good length to balance body.  Very fine down over body, tail and feet and very slightly more down over nose and back of the ears. Very short whiskers and no eyebrows. Nicely balanced young kitten but still developing and so sweet natured.

Promising well grown, nicely balanced boy with fine boning, modified wedge with rounded contours, longer than wide, rounded top with flat forehead, prominent cheek bones, distinct whisker break, prominent whisker pads, straight profile, firm chin, level bite, large ears, wide open at base tapering to rounded tips, set at angle to head, large size lemon shaped yellow eyes, slightly slanted upwards, medium hard muscular body, rounded chest, abdomen and rump, medium limbs higher at rear, oval padded paws, long toes, long slender tail, super naked body with very slight resistance chamois like down on body, tail and limbs, a superb temperament and condition

Just four months old and of excellent size, very weighty and with a good firm feel to her. Head has short wedge with breadth developing, high cheek bones, strong muzzle, level bite and fair depth chin.  In profile brow curves back to flat skull, fairly good stop, nose just a trifle long but straight, well defined whisker break.  Ears are set low and wide apart, well covered in fur, large and wide at base, tapering to rounded tips with slight tufts and short ear muffs around base. Lovely ‘wicked’ expression to large oval shaped eyes, set wide apart and sloping towards outer edges of ears.  Hard body medium in length, slender and with a well rounded chest.  Slender neck and good slim legs but slightly large oval paws.  Long, tapering tail well covered in fur with a light wave.  Soft texture to fairly short, dense coat, well covered and even in length over body, well rippled along back and sides.  Light wave down legs. Miniscule whiskers and a few hairs to eyebrows with a slight curl

Slightly rounded skull, medium wedge, lovely high cheek bones, fairly good stop, short broad muzzle, good whisker break, fairly firm chin, level bite, elegant neck, large ears, low set, wide apart, wide at base with rounded tips, some muffs and tufts, medium size, bluey green eyes with Devon expression, oval shaped and well set, medium, solid muscular body, broad chest, long limbs higher at rear, oval paws, good length tapered tail with pointed tip, good medium length, soft and fine coat, good density and rexed all over in tight waves, tummy covered in down, very good temperament and in very good condition.

Short wedge with large wide set ears quite low. Good cheeks. Has some nose stop. Level chin. Almond shaped eyes of pale blue colour. Extremely well covered with fine well rippled coat.

A super typy girl with real large Devon ears, Nice flat skull, short wedge, nice high cheek bones, fairly deep stop, short broad muzzle, good whisker break, firm chin, level bite, elegant neck, good large ears, low set, wide apart, wide at base with rounded tips, medium size, pale blue eyes with good Devon expression, oval shaped and well set slanting towards ears, medium size , solid body, broad chest, long limbs higher at rear, oval paws, good length tapered tail with pointed tip, very short soft, fine coat, lacking some density on sides, rexed all over, tummy downy, very good temperament and in very good condition. Her coat has improved a lot since I last judged her and if this continues she should attain great awards.

Overall Impression:  Nice big well fed girl.

Head inc. Ears:  Modified wedge, rounded contours. longer than wide, prominent cheekbones, good whisker break, prominent whisker pads, rounded muzzle, slight stop, fairly firm chin, level bite, untidy teeth.  Large wide ears, good set.

Eyes:  Medium lemon shape, green eyes.

Body, inc. Legs & Feet:  Medium body, hard muscular and well fed, rounded rump, long neck.  Medium limbs, oval paws, cushioned.

Tail: Long and slender tail, good proportions.

Coat:  Down on points and limbs, body naked, wrinkled chin and head.

Colour/Pattern  Brown Tabby Tortie.

Temperament & Condition: Very good

General Remarks: Good type and fine example of a Sphynx.

Flat skull, medium wedge, high cheek bones,fairly good stop, broad muzzle, good whisker break,fairly firm chin, level bite, very elegant neck, fairly large ears, a bit high set, fairly wide apart, wide at base with pointed tips, with slight muffs and tufts, medium oval shaped, blue eyes with Devon expression, well set, medium, solid body, broad chest, slender long limbs higher at rear, oval paws, good length tail thicker at base tapering to a pointed tip, soft fine coat, very good short length, good density and very good neat waves all over, tummy covered with slight down, very good temperament and in very good condition.

.Overall impression: A very attractive young female with a charming temperament.

Head, inc. Ears:  Large ears, wide at base with rounded tips balanced wedge, good cheeks, slight stop to profile, good chin and level bits. 

Eyes: Large lemon shaped eyes, green with excellent expression.

Body, inc. Legs and Feet: Firm, hard body, long legs with oval paws, in proportion and very long, slender tail to balance.

Coat: Body has a peach-like texture with some slightly longer down on her mose, back of ears and tip of tail.

Colour/Pattern: Pattern shows black patched with red.

Temperament and Condition: Excellent

General Remarks:  What a little sweetie!

ears): Short wide wedge with large wide at base ears which are quite well set.  Profile shows flat skull, stop which could be more definite and straight nose.  High cheek bones, whisker break, level bite and firm chin.  Large eyes of pale blue with good muscular, firm, medium size body between slender legs and tail, needing a fraction more length. 

Coat (incl colour/pattern): Her coat is patchy at present

Overall impression: Good Devon look which her mood flatters!

Head (incl. eyes and esent, but where it is, it is short, dense and well waved.

General Remarks (incl. condition and temperament): Not a happy girl at all, however she let me assess her fully eventually.  Her temperament and coat are my reasons for not awarding her the Certificate.
