DEVON REX AND SPHYNX CATS

DEVILISH DEVON REX AND SPECTACULAR SPHYNX CATS AND KITTENS

Nobilero Osondrea Pitchbru

Rosa is a young lady with a mind of her own.  She is loving and very affectionate - even when you are trying to read, eat or sleep - in other words, she is a typical Devon.  I had great hopes for her when she was a kitten, but the nose break she had as a baby has sadly disappeared, leaving her looking rather long in the face.  However, she has fabulous ear set, which is something I am trying to improve in the Devon Rex, and for that reason, she is stayed with us and will be part of our breeding programme.

Rosa also has fabulous eye shape, a good whisker break and is developing quite a good coat.  She also has the requisite mad look, essential for any self respecting Devon Rex.

Rosa has been to two shows, one where she bombed out completely and another where she came first.  I plan to allow her to mature before she is entered in any more shows.

Her pedigree is available to see here

DNA Testing

Along with her mother and sister, Rosa has been DNA tested for colour - the results are as follows:-
Feline Coat Color Results for Nobilero Osondrea Pitchbru:

Agouti Result:
a/a - Non-agouti.  If bred to a non-agouti, only non-agouti offspring will be produced.

Colorpoint Restriction Result:
C/cb - Carrier of Burmese (sepia) color

Brown Result:
B/B - Full color, cat does not carry brown or cinnamon

Dilute Result:
D/D - Full color. Cat does not have the dilute allele.

This means that Rosa is not a tabby, which in turn means that her mother, Leyla, must be heterozygous for the agouti gene.  She is a carrier only of the Burmese gene and so she may produce, depending on the boy she is eventually mated to and his genetic make up, solids Burmese restriction and Darker Point kittens.  She is genetically Black and does not carry any other colour, nor the gene for Dilution.  So, genetically at least, Rosa is pretty boring!!
