DEVON REX AND SPHYNX CATS

DEVILISH DEVON REX AND SPECTACULAR SPHYNX CATS AND KITTENS

From Mary Weston who snatched Becci and Daithi!!

How wonderful it is to have Devon Rex in the house once more.  Daithi and Becci are two of the cutest little bundles of fun I could have wished for, thanks to Ann and the charming Eoghan.  After watching the kittens interacting with their two Wolfies I realized that Kofi, our German Shepherd, would be a walk over for them both.  Becci surprised me by leaping onto Medhbh’s back, but Ann explained she often cadges a lift that way.  It was a real joy to watch two big Wolfies being so gentle and caring of cats and kittens.

Back home in Sheffield they became Jasmine and Bertie, and I am pleased to say made the transition from one home to another with the greatest of ease.  I am sure it helped having each other for company.

One week on and they are so completely relaxed with Kofi that the three of them were lying together in the sun this morning.   Lilee, our fourteen year old British Blue, took a little longer to relax and avoided them until she realized that meal times come around much faster for two little kittens.

I am so grateful to Ann for agreeing to let me have Jasmine for breeding.  I also appreciated her honest assessment of the kittens and it was very clear that though she loves her animals to bits, she is able to take off her rose colour spectacles when she is assessing her cats show qualities.  I wanted a male as a neutered companion for the female and wasn’t planning to show him, but then I didn’t expect such a handsome little fellow as Bertie.  I am planning to give them there first outing in October.  I felt so much at ease with Ann and Eoghan that I invited them to stay with us for the weekend of the show, but later Ann realized it clashed with a TICA show she wants to attend in Weston, so that pleasure will wait for now.

Aine - Stolen by Helen, Martin and Molly

Thankyou so much for allowing Aine to move to Cumbria and live with us.
She is so gentle but lots of fun and cuddly all in one bundle of love. She is much better behaved than Boris was, we have had no breakages yet, but I would not like to speak too soon.
Molly loves having a kitten but prefers her not to try to play with her tiny mice, unfortunately lots of mice bought for Pinky Porridge have now being adopted into the tiny mice family so it is rather confusing for a kitten! Pinky pretends she is a penguin or a mouse and blends in with the background at times, as you can see from the photos. Pinky Porridge has even made a guest appearance on the school white board.
The others have being rather jealous and have hissed more than we can remember but Pinky has stood up to them and given as good as she has got then she stalks off and waits to ambush them round the next corner.
This week we have had our first rex pile, so things are getting back to normal.
